WHITE OUT

White Out is OSAID Bayview's first event to spread awareness about the consequences of impaired driving. Volunteers paint their whole face (or football-stripe their face) with white tempera paint and wear a sign around necks saying 'Impaired driving kills- OSAID'. On the back there will be a description of a past victim of impaired driving.

If you choose to volunteer you will have to commit to coming in early anytime from 8:15 to before school starts to room 113 and paint your face. You will miss about 5-10 minutes of class for first period (we will notify your homeroom teacher ourselves). As of now we have about 50 volunteers.

If you want to volunteer and have not signed up with us yet, please send an email to osaidbayview@gmail.com that includes your name and homeroom teacher. You should soon be receiving a volunteer confirmation email that includes a link to a form. Everyone, whether you have already signed up or not, please fill this form out online and submit it as a confirmation of your participation.

Just a reminder: you need to hand in your t-shirt money ($8) and your photo consent forms to Mrs. Jarrett in room 113 after the March Break.

Thank you and we hope you are having a great March Break!

OSAID meeting: Thurs. March 4

We've made a few changes to how our meetings will be run, based on feedback from the members.

From now on, OSAID meetings will be taking place in the cafe. Much of the feedback from members has dealt with room 113 being too small and crowded. As well, we will be splitting up into groups for attendance and activity purposes to streamline the meeting. Please, please, please, make sure you know who your group leader is.

The OSAID Executive would like to thank you for your patience in the last two meetings. We are now (finally) finishing off the administrative aspects of starting a club, and will begin to get some real work done. This Thursday, March 4, we will be explaining our first event, White-Out, in full detail, as well as having a brainstorming session for future events and taking T-Shirt sizes. Our final decision for Grade 11 Representative will also be announced.

Please remember to bring $8 for your T-Shirt, and your attached photo consent forms. We understand this is short notice, so if you cannot have them for Thursday, hand them in to an exec or Mrs. Jarrett as soon as possible. If there are any issues filling out your consent forms, feel free to reply to this email.

We would like to have all the money in as soon as possible, as we plan to take a yearbook photo with everyone wearing an OSAID shirt.

*Note: You should also have received an email with the attendance lists of your groups

Thank you

OSAID Executive
